Kaddu ki sabzi is a simple side dish that is commonly made in every Indian household. Kaddu ki Sabzi is an easy and tasty recipe that you can easily make. Kaddu is Hindi meaning of “Pumpkin”. I love having Kaddu ki sabzi in lunch with chapati, or rice, you can also have it with poori.

This Pumpkin Recipe that I am going to share is especially for those who don’t like Kaddu. Once you tried this Kaddu recipe, you gonna love it and also demand for same Kaddu Ki Sabzi. The good thing is you don’t need any special ingredients for this recipe, everything is available in your kitchen. Sometimes I love to have this Dry Kaddu Ki Sabzi in a slice of bread and make a quick toast to satisfy my evening craving, believe me, it tastes amazing.

There are a lot of different names of Kaddu ki Sabzi like Pethe ki Sabzi, Sitafal ki sabzi, Kohda ki sabzi, Kashifal ki sabzi. But I am familiar with Pethe ki sabzi and kaddu ki sabzi. Not only in different names, it is also made in different varieties like Kaddu Ka Halwa, Khatta Meetha Kaddu for fast, Thin Curry Petha, and even sweets are also made with the petha.

But for sweets, white Pumpkin is used. Here I am sharing Dry Pethe ki Sabzi, it tastes so good and this is my favorite way to have Petha or Pumpkin. I love dry Pethe ki Sabzi with hot chapati.

How to Make Kaddu ki Sabzi

Ingredients

  • 1 Kaddu (Pumpkin)
  • 1-2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp Methi Seeds (fenugreek)
  • 1 tsp Jeera (cumin seeds)
  • 2 chopped Onions
  • 1 tsp Garlic Paste
  • 1 tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 1 tbsp Dhania Powder
  • 1 tbsp Kashmiri Lal Mirch (red chilli powder)
  • 1 tbsp Amchur Powder (Mango powder)
  • 1 tsp Garam Masala
  • 1 green chilli (optional)
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  • Take one whole Pumpkin, peel it and cut it into small cubes.
  • Take a pan and add oil, fenugreek seeds and cumin seeds in it.
  • Then add garlic and onions in the pan.
  • Add 1 tbsp of turmeric powder, dhania powder and salt to taste.
  • Now add chopped Pumpkin in the kadai.
  • Add Kashmiri Lal Mirch and amchur and garam masala.
  • Mix it and cook it for a while.
  • Now mash it with spactula and cook it for while.
  • Simple and Easy Pethe ki sabzi is ready to enjoy with hot chapati.

How to Make Kaddu Ki Sabzi (in detail):

  1. Take a whole pumpkin peel it and cut it into cubes.Kaddu-ki-sabzi-recipe
