Paneer’s dishes are always a special dish that is mostly made on festivals or any special occasion. Yeah! you can say that Paneer is not a common dish in Indian households. There are different varieties of paneer dishes that you will see in India like Paneer Makhani, Shahi Paneer, Palak Paneer, Kadai Paneer Masala, Cheese Chilli, Paneer Tikka, Paneer Bhurji and so many other dishes.
But here I am going to share the Matar Paneer recipe. In my house, this recipe is mostly made in the winter season. Because fresh peas are available only in the winter season in the Northern side of India. You can make the Matar Paneer recipe with frozen peas but fresh peas have little sweetness and freshness that helps in enhancing the taste of Matar Paneer.
This Matar Paneer Recipe is a gravy creamy-textured dish. That’s gravy is prepared with onions, tomato puree, fresh cream, and some spices. This dish is not a spicy one and does not need any special species. It is a mild-flavored tasty dish that you can prepare on any special occasion or for special guests and you can serve whether in lunch or dinner.

Matar Paneer Recipe
Equipment
- Pan
Ingredients
- 250 gm Diced Paneer
- 1 cup Fresh Peas
- 1 cup Tomato Puree
- 1 cup Finely Chopped Onions
- ½ cup Fresh Cream (Malai)
- 1 tbsp Ginger-Garlic paste
- ½ tbsp Cumin Seeds (Jeera)
- 1 tbsp Coriander Powder (Dhania Powder)
- ½ tbsp Red Chilli Powder
- 1 tbsp Turmeric Powder
- Salt (as per taste)
- Kasturi Methi
Instructions
- Heat oil in the pan.
- Add ½ tbsp of Jeera (cumin seeds), and 1 tbsp of ginger-garlic paste in it.
- Then add 1 cup of finely chopped onions in the pan. Mix it.
- When onions are cooked then add 1 cup of tomato puree in it.
- After that, add ½ tbsp of red chili powder, 1 tbsp of dhania powder and ½ tbsp of turmeric powder in the pan.
- Mix it well. Add Kasturi Methi and salt in the pan.
- Add 1 cup of Matar and cover the pan for 7-8 minutes because Matar (peas) takes little time to cook.
- When Matar (Peas) is perfectly cooked the add ½ cup of fresh cream (Malai) and 250 gm diced Paneer in it.
- Mix it well. Add ½ cup of water in the pan.
- Stir it until the water is soaked in the gravy and the gravy becomes little thick consistency textured.
- Easy and quick Matar Paneer Recipe is now ready to serve with chapatti, naan whatever you like to prefer.
How To Make Matar Paneer Recipe Step By Step With Photos
