  • Pressure Cooker


  • 1 glass Basmati Rice
  • 1 cup Matar (Peas)
  • 1 Sliced Onion
  • 1 Bay Leaf
  • ½ tbsp Red Chilli Powder
  • Salt (as per taste)
  • 1 Cinnamon Stick
  • ½ tbsp Cumin Seeds
  • 2 cloves


  • Firstly, Wash and clean Basmati Rice properly.
  • Then heat oil in the pressure cooker.
  • Add ½ tbsp of cumin, Cinnamon, 2 cloves, and 1 bay leaf in the pressure cooker.
  • Add 1 sliced onion in the cooker. Mix it well.
  • Now, add 1 cup of peas in the cooker. Mix and cook it well.
  • When peas are cooked then add ½ tbsp of red chilli powder and salt (as per taste) in the pressure cooker.
  • Add washed Basmati Rice in the pressure cooker.
  • Mix it very well for 5-7 minutes.
  • Then add 2 glass of water in a pressure cooker.
  • Now, wait for 1 whistle of the pressure cooker.
  • After 1 whistle, open it immediately.
  • Matar Pulav is now ready to serve with raita or curd.
