Soya Chaap is a healthy snack in the Northern region of India. Soya Chaap is like vegetarian meat which is made up of soya bean and chunks. Prepare a dough, wrap on a wooden stick or ice-cream stick and then boil it. Your Soya Chaap Sticks is ready.
But honestly, I never try this at home, here I used ready-made Soya Chaap Sticks from the market. Ready-made Soya Chaap is easily available in the market. There are many recipes of Soya Chaap, masala Soya Chaap, Soya Chaap Tikka, Soya Chaap curry. But today I am going to share a recipe of Masala Soya Chaap in Punjabi style. This recipe can be served with Naan, Chapatti(roti), Lacha Parantha and some Green Chutney, Sirka Pyaaz (vinegar onions), Cream Salad. Try this Soya Chaap recipe, it’s delicious, healthy and so easy to make.

Masala Chaap Recipe
Ingredients
- 6 soya chaap stick
- 3 tbsp thick curd
- 1 tbsp Refined flour (maida)
- 3 tbsp vegetable oil
- 6 half chopped/ half sliced an onion
- 1 tbsp garlic paste
- 1 green chilli
- 1/2 tbsp turmeric powder
- 1 tbsp red chilli powder
- salt as per taste
- 1 cup cream
- 1 tbsp Schezwan chutney
- 1 tbsp Garam Masala
- 1 tbsp Kasturi Methi
Instructions
- Take a Soya Chaap Sticks from fridger and put in hot water till Soya Chaap Stick is easily come out from the stick (you can also boil Soya Chaap)
- After coming out from stick then chopped soya chaap into dices and take a bowl put 2-3 tbsp of thick curd, 4-5 tbsp of refined white flour (maida), salt, chili powder, half tbsp of dhania powder, kasturi methi marinate it for 40-45 minutes
- After marination, take a pan to add a little bit of vegetable oil and heat up until Soya Chaap changes the color into golden brown
- Heat a pan to add 2-3 tsp of vegetable oil
- Add finely chopped onions, garlic, green chili into the pan, mix it well
- And the add sliced onion into the pan, mix it
- After 4-5 minutes add 1tsp red chili, ½ tsp of turmeric.
- Add 1 cup Cream and 1 tbsp of Schezwan Chutney
- Add salt as per your taste.
- Mix it well until oil oozing out of the masala
- Now add a shallow fried Soya Chaap into the masala and sprinkle Kasturi methi and garam masala. mix it well.
- Now your soya chaap is ready to serve with Naan, chapati(roti), Lacha parantha.
Notes
- Do not boil Chaap for longer duration. Chaap will get soggy.
- Do not deep fry Marinated chaap.
- You can replace Schezwan chutney with home made chutney made of Tomatoes, Garlic, Onion.
- You can also replace Cream with Malai.
- Do not overcook the masala.
How to Make a Soya Chaap in Punjabi Style | Gravy Soya Chaap Recipe
- Take a Soya Chaap Sticks from fridger and put in hot water till Soya Chaap easily comes out from the stick (you can also boil Soya Chaap)
- After coming out from stick then chop soya chaap into dices and take a bowl. Put 3-4 tbsp of thick curd, 1 tbsp of refined flour, salt, chili powder and ½ tsp of garlic (optional), 1/2 tbsp of Dhania powder, Kasturi methi.
- Marinate it for 40 to 45 minutes.
- After marination, take a pan, add a little bit of vegetable oil and put marinated chaap on the pan.
- Heat up until Soya Chaap changes the color into golden brown
- Heat a pan to add 2-3 tsp of vegetable oil. Add finely chopped onions, green chili into the pan, mix it well.
- And add sliced onion into the pan, mix it
- After 4-5 minutes, add 1 tbsp of red chili powder, ½ tbsp of turmeric. Mix it well.
- Add 1 cup Cream and Schezwan Chutney for color and taste.
- Now add salt as per your taste. Mix it well until oil oozing out of the masala
- Now add a shallow fried Soya Chaap into the masala and mix it.
- Sprinkle Kasturi methi and Garam Masala and give it a final mix.
- Now your soya chaap is ready to serve. Serve it with Chappati, Butter Naan, Laccha Parantha.
