Kachori is a crispy deep-fried stuff bread. It is an Indian snack that is served in breakfast or as an evening snack. There are different variations of Kachoris is available in the market, Dal Kachori, Pyaaz Kachori, Aloo Kachori. Aloo Kachori is a popular street snack in Uttar Pradesh but basically, it is originated in Rajasthan. Every state of India has its own taste and preferences for Kachori stuffing. Aloo Pyaaz Kachori is my favourite, the bite of that kachori is soft and crispy with spicy Aloo Pyaaz Stuffing. With Imli chutney, Kachori tastes even better.
As we always hear about Khasta Kachori but most of them, don’t know the actual meaning of Khasta Kachori. Khasta Kachori means flaky kachori that means it is soft, crispy, and easy to break. For making Khasta Kachori, there are some things that you should always keep in mind while making Kachori. I’ll explain all the steps below to make Khasta Kachori recipe.
The process of making Aloo Pyaaz Kachori is similar to an Aloo Samosa but there is a thin line between Samosa and Kachori. Here, I am not going to talk about the differences between Samosa and Kachori. This blog post is all about the recipe of Aloo Pyaaz Kachori.
Aloo Pyaaz Kachori is so simple to make and also doesn’t take a lot of time. Simply make dough and stuffing, then make small balls of dough and stuffed aloo stuffing and seal the flatten dough ball with help of fingers and deep fry it. Aloo Pyaaz Kachori
Ingredients
Ingredients for dough
- 1 cup Maida (All purpose flour)
- 1 tbsp Ghee
- Salt to taste
- Enough water to make a dough
Ingredients for Kachori Stuffing
- 4 Boiled Mashed Potato (Aloo)
- 2 Chopped Onions
- 2 Chopped Green Chilli
- vegetable oil
- 1 tsp Jeera (Cumin Seeds)
- ½ tsp turmeric powder (Haldi)
- 1 tsp Red chilli Powder
- 1 tsp Bhuna Jeera Powder
- 1 tbsp Amchoor
- 1 tsp Dhania Powder
- Kasturi Methi
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Take 1 cup of Maida (all purpose flour), Add 1 tbsp of ghee. Ghee makes the Kachori Khasta.
- Knead it well to make a perfect dough.
- When dough is perfectly kneaded then take some rest to the dough.
- Heat a oil in the pan and add ½ tsp of jeera, and ½ tsp of turmeric powder(Haldi). Then add chopped onion and green chilli in it.
- After that add mashed boiled potato, 1 tsp of bhuna jeera, 1 tbsp of amchoor, kasturi methi, 1 tsp of red chilli powder, 1 tbsp of dhania powder and salt to taste.
- Mix it well and mash some of potato with the help of spatula.
- Divide the dough and make small balls of the dough. Roll it.
- After that place a 1 tbsp of aloo stuffing in the centre.
- Now fold it, with the help of fingers and press it to make a perfect kachori.
- Heat a enough oil for deep frying. Place ready kachori in kadhai. Let it fry on low-medium flame and flip it.
- When Kachori is turn into golden brown that means kachori is now ready to enjoy with Imli (Tamarind) Chutney pudina chutney.
How To Make Aloo Pyaaz Khasta Kachori With Photos:
Making of dough for Kachori
- Take 1 cup of Maida (all-purpose flour), Add 1 tbsp of ghee. That ghee makes kachori khasta. Also, add salt in the bowl.
- Mix all ingredients together and then add a bit of water.
- Knead it well to make a perfect dough.
- Now, place kneaded dough aside for rest.
Stuffing for Khasta Aloo Pyaaz Kachori
- Heat oil in the pan and add ½ tsp of jeera, and ½ tsp of turmeric powder(Haldi).
- Then add 2 chopped onions and green chilli in it. Mix it well.
- After that, add mashed boiled potato, 1 tsp of bhuna jeera, 1 tbsp of amchoor, Kasturi methi, 1 tsp of red chilli powder, 1 tbsp of dhania powder and salt to taste.
- Mix it well and mash some of the potatoes with the help of a spatula.
- Dough and Kachori Stuffing is ready. Now it’s time to make Kachori.
How to Make Kachori:
- Divide the dough and make small balls.
- Roll the dough ball on a rolling board with the help of a rolling pin.
- After that place a 1 tbsp of aloo stuffing in the center.
- Now fold it, with the help of fingers and press it to make a perfect kachori.
- Do it the same to all the dough balls.
Frying Kachori
- Heat enough oil for deep frying.
- When the oil is perfectly heated then place Kachori in the hot oil.
- Let it fry on low-medium flame and flip it.
- When Kachori is turned into golden brown that means kachori is now ready to enjoy with Imli (Tamarind) Chutney and pudina chutney.
